Cesena hadn’t won a Serie A away fixture since their 1-0 at Palermo on December 10 2011 with just five draws and 16 losses. The Cavallucci Marini have scored four own goals this season.

Empoli are without victory in eight rounds, including six draws since their 2-0 over Parma on November 23. Udinese ended their winless streak after three draws and two losses. The Friulani are unbeaten in four away games (winning two), their best run since May 2013.

Antonio Di Natale scored his 202nd Serie A goal and is now just three off Roberto Baggio’s total. This was his ninth of the campaign, but the first outside the Stadio Friuli. Di Natale has put four career goals past his old club Empoli, having also bagged a brace in Week 1.

Riccardo Saponara scored his maiden Serie A goal at the ninth appearance, while it was Silvan Widmer’s second. Massimo Maccarone played his 200th competitive match in an Empoli jersey.
